Fixing Sound Distortion in Kali Linux 1.1.0!! Easy Way!!

So guys, in this post i'm gonna show you how to fix sound distortion in Kali Linux 1.1.0 & previous versions ! 

First Method:- 

Okay so, first of all open the terminal and type the following command

leafpad /etc/pulse/default.pa

If you have installed sublime  text editor in your kali linux then use this command in terminal

subl /etc/pulse/default.pa

Don't panic if your terminal doesnt look like mine .. it's because i have installed hackstation theme in kali linux :) 

Now when you have entered above command shown in terminal a window will open in my case thats sublime text editor!

search and replace "load-module module-udev-detect" with "load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0"

save it!!

Second Method:-

In this method you have to change the vlc media player settings

1.) Go to tools in vlc media player
2.) In tools open prefrences and following window will pop-up

3.) Go to Audio section and try to change various output module .. Audio memory output worked for me :)

that's it!!

P.S :- for better results apply both the methods mentioned above! and don't forget to reboot your system after applying 1st method!!

 

Recover/Repair/Install GRUB Bootloader!! Boot-Repair!! Easy Way!!

Hey friends! Today i'm gonna show you how to repair your grub bootloader which is installed with linux operating system! And due to some reasons it's damaged for example you tried to dual boot linux and windows and firstly you have installed linux which comes with GRUB bootloader which gets erased or it's over-wrighted due to installation of windows boot loader! In such case you can't open your linux operating system and only windows gets opened ! In this post i will be showing you how you can again Recover/Repair/Install grub bootloader so that you can boot into both the operating system !

So the current condition is that you directly boot into windows and don't have option to boot into your linux so do the following steps
1.) Make a bootable usb of ubuntu or linux mint
2.) Make it run live into your system
3.) Open your terminal and enter the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair

The above command will be used to add the repository of Boot-repair
Boot-Repair is basically a gui utility to recover/repair GRUB bootloader in Linux

Now open your synaptic package manager and reload it
After reloading open your software manager and search for Boot-Repair and install it

and then start Boot repair! Your gui will look somewhat like this

Metasploit Installation in Ubuntu & Linux Mint!! EASY WAY!!

What the heck is metasploit project ??

>>> The Metasploit Project is a computer security project that provides information about security vulnerabilities and aids in penetration testing and IDS signature development.

Basically metasploit is a framework packed with exploits of various vulnerabilities !

Using unstable linux like kali and backtrack(so called the most advanced penetration testing distribution) is pain in ass !
so guys in this post i'm gonna show you how to install metasploit framework(quite popular in pentesters, hackers, crackers, n00bs ) in Ubuntu and Linux mint .. so let's get started!!

First of all i need you to go to this link http://www.metasploit.com/
Your window must look like this

now you are on the official website of metasploit
next you have to do is to click on the blue button that says free metasploit download !!
after clicking on the button you will be redirected to rapid7 website now you have two options
1.) Metasploit Pro Version
2.) Metasploit Community Version

Pro version is not the free one but community version is free.. So just click on the box that says download community version of metasploit on rapid7 website!
Now you have to provide some personal information like email id and all such things and you will get the metasploit-latest-linux-x64-installer.run installer which is for the 64-bit version of linux ..

Now after downloading the installer go and right click on the installer and make it executable
By checking the options in permission tab that says allow executing file as program like in the picture below

I have already checked the option in the picture above ! Now double click the installer and run it .. and then it will be installed in your system!
You will get a web interface on your localhost where you will make a account and from next time you will need id-password to login :)

The web interface will look somewhat like the pic below

And to start metasploit console i.e. msfconsole in linux mint type the following command in terminal

Python_Programming :: What Does if __name__ == '__main__' means ??

So, friends today i'm gonna explain what actually the code in the picture below do in python programming ..

This piece of code is very much important in one particular situation to check whether you directly run your program or it's being imported as a module consider the pictures below

I have created a python program named 'independent.py' as you can see if __name__ == '__main__' then python interpreter will print "I am running as a Independent program!" else it will run as "I am running as a module!"

Lets check what result python interpreter gives when we print __name__ in the shell

as you can see __name__  == '__main__'
so when we run independent.py we will see "I am running as a Independent program!"

Let's check another case when i will create another python program named imported.py in which i will import independent.py

 

Now i'm gonna run this python program and see what this program will give result! 

And output is "I am running as a module"

This is quite usefull in one particular case when your if statement is something like this 

if __name__ == '__main__': main()

In this case if you are running it as a main program then your main function will execute and if u just wanna use functions of this independent.py programs in some different program i.e. imported.py then main() function of the imported program will not get executed and you will only get access to other functions except main().

I guess now it's quite clear :D

Building Custom Snippets in Sublime Text 3!!

Friends, In this post i am gonna show to build and use your own Snippets in sublime text 3!!
First you must have Sublime text 3 installed in your system!! You can download sublime text 3 from here ... LINK

Snippets basically makes your programming life easy in sublime text 3!!
here is your sublime text 3 ...

So for building a Snippet you have to go to Tools option in sublime text 3 ... and select the New Snippet Option!!

a default file opens with bunch of lines of code as shown in the picture below

So lets understand the code written in the default files ...

1.) There is a CONTENT tag in which we have to write contents or code which we wanna use many and many times in our programming languages .. like JAVA, PHP and all other languages!!
2.)${1:this} means when we supply our small snippets and hit tab 1st time then it will stop at "this"same as ${2:snippet} for 2nd time of tabtriggering 
3.)So now i'm gonna make build a Snippet for JAVA Programming language.. as shown in the picture below!!

save the file as p.sublime-snippet as your snippet name as shown in the picture below ...

now whenever during coding you press p and hit enter the following code will appear on the screen and with

With the item selected which we supplied in the ${1:/*ClassSwap*/} and when you will hit tab
it will select the next item which you supplied in ${2:/*CodeSwap*/} as shown in the picture below

phpsh by Facebook Developers on Backtrack5 R3

Hey guys today i'm gonna show you how to install and use phpsh on BackTrack 5 R3!!

First of all what actually is phpsh ?

phpsh is an interactive shell for php that features readline history, tab completion, quick access to documentation. It was developed at Facebook and ironically, is written mostly in python. It is open source and released under a modified BSD license.

The source code of phpsh is available at GITHUB

You can download the zip file of the source from here

The main problem is that its not available for windows platform so you can virtually run operating systems like BT5R3 or kali linux or ubuntu .. totally depends on your flavor!!

So basically you have to first download the zip file of the source code and then place it on desktop like this ..

Then you have to extract it using the following command in terminal!!

After unzipping it you have to install it so that you can use it!!
use the following commands to do this!!

run the above given commands one by one in the terminal of bt5r3 in the unzipped directory of the phpsh-master and then you will get it installed on the linux!!

Also for ease of access after starting the terminal in Vmware you can enable the unity mode in VMware so that so will get some thing like in the pic posted below .. && its awesome

Install Vmware Player in Kali Linux(Host)!!

hey guys, in my views pentesting is lot easy if we can use kali as main or host operating system and other victim operating system as guest via Vmware player.. So I am writing this blog on how to install Vmware player kali linux ..

1.) Go to this LINK and download VMware player 64 bit for linux .

2.) Your vmware player something look like this --> VMware-Player-6.0.3-1895310.x86_64.bundle

3.) Now first of all you have to change the permission of this downloaded file
so use the following command as shown in the pic below

  

4.) Now use the following command as shown in the picture below to install linux headers

5.) last command to install the Vmware Player 

and after this magic happens :p and the graphical user interface of vmware pop-ups and after that vmware can be easily installed ...

finally you will get vmware looking something like this ...
